One-Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs: A Quick & Easy Meal for Busy Moms

As moms, we’re always on the lookout for meals that are quick, kid-approved, and don’t leave us with a sink full of dishes. Between homeschooling, playdates, and the endless to-do list, finding the time to prepare a homemade meal can feel like a juggling act. That’s why I love this one-pot spaghetti and meatballs recipe—it’s fast, uses pre-made frozen meatballs, and the best part? It all cooks in one pot!

This recipe is perfect for busy nights when you need something hearty and delicious but don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen. Plus, it’s a meal your kids will love! (Ask me how I know!)

Why One-Pot Meals Make Life Easier

One-pot meals are a mom’s secret weapon. Minimal prep, fewer dishes, and maximum flavor—that’s a win! With everything cooked together in one pot, you can enjoy more time with your kids and less time cleaning up.

Now, let’s get to the easy, time-saving recipe!

One-Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe (with Frozen Meatballs)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (about 16 oz) of frozen pre-cooked meatballs (turkey, beef, or veggie)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 24 oz jar of marinara sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 4 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
  • 12 oz spaghetti (uncooked, broken in half)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Frozen Meatballs: Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the frozen meatballs and sauté them for about 3-5 minutes until they’re lightly browned on the outside. This step adds extra flavor but isn’t required if you’re in a rush.

  2. Add Sauce and Water: Pour the jar of marinara sauce into the pot with the meatballs, then add 4 cups of water or chicken broth. Stir in the garlic powder, Italian seasoning (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  3. Add the Spaghetti: Break the spaghetti in half and add it directly to the pot. Make sure the pasta is fully submerged in the sauce. Stir everything together to prevent the pasta from sticking.

  4. Cook Everything Together: Cover the pot and let everything cook over medium-low heat for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The pasta will cook in the sauce and absorb all the flavors, and the meatballs will heat through. If the sauce gets too thick, add a bit more water or broth until the pasta is cooked to your liking.

  5. Finish and Serve: Once the spaghetti is tender and the meatballs are fully heated, give everything a good stir. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

  6. Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the spaghetti and meatballs with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh basil or parsley if you like. Watch your kids dig in!

A Quick Tip for Busy Moms

This recipe is super flexible! Feel free to use whatever type of frozen meatballs your family enjoys—beef, turkey, or even plant-based. And if you want to add some veggies, toss in a handful of spinach or diced zucchini when you add the sauce.
