A Homeschool Outing to "Charlotte's Web "at the Doug Smith Performance Center
Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my kids, along with some friends from our homeschool community, to the Doug Smith Performance Center in Georgetown, Texas, for a live production of Charlotte's Web. The performance brought E.B. White’s classic story to life with such charm and creativity that it captivated kids and adults alike. This experience was not only entertaining but also rich in educational value, sparking conversations about friendship, loyalty, and the magic of storytelling.

Our Experience Watching Charlotte's Web
Watching Charlotte's Web together was a wonderful way for the kids to experience literature through a new lens. Seeing Wilbur, Charlotte, and the other characters live on stage brought the story to life in a way that reading alone can’t fully capture. The kids were completely drawn into the friendship between Wilbur and Charlotte, and the themes of sacrifice and loyalty were beautifully conveyed.
If you’re in the Georgetown area, I highly recommend checking out the Doug Smith Performance Center. It's a valuable resource for homeschoolers to experience the arts, enrich their learning, and make memories with friends and family.
